Welcome to the Pearl of Africa

Who We Are

Taste Africa Safaris is a Ugandan-owned and operated safari company based in Kampala, Uganda. We specialize in intimate, authentic, and responsible journeys across Uganda and Rwanda — from misty gorilla forests to open savannahs teeming with the Big 5.

We are storytellers. Guides. Conservationists. And above all, travelers at heart.

Our name says it all: we don’t just show you Africa. We help you taste it — its wildness, its warmth, its rhythm, and its unforgettable beauty.

Based in Uganda and born from a deep love for our continent, we craft private, small-group journeys that blend thrilling game drives, intimate primate treks, boat safaris, and vibrant cultural encounters. Whether you’re tracking chimpanzees in Kibale, spotting the Big 5 in Akagera, or cruising the Kazinga Channel at sunset, every moment is designed to immerse you, not just show you.

With expert local guides, a commitment to conservation, and a passion for authentic experiences, we don’t just take you on safari. We help you taste Africa, its wildness, its warmth, and its unforgettable beauty.

Our Story

Taste Africa Safaris was born from a simple belief: travel should change you.

After years of guiding international travelers through East Africa’s most breathtaking landscapes, our founder — a Ugandan native with mud on his boots and fire in his belly — realized that most safaris felt rushed, impersonal, and disconnected from local communities.

So he built something different.

A company where every guest is treated like family. Where guides share not just facts, but stories. Where conservation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a daily practice. And where the journey is as meaningful as the destination.

That company is Taste Africa Safaris.

We are storytellers. Guides. Conservationists. And above all, travelers at heart.

What We Believe

Primates come first — but not only.

Yes, we are gorilla trekking experts. But we also know where to find tree-climbing lions, chimpanzees, golden monkeys, and the elusive leopard.

Small groups, big moments.

We never pack you into crowded vans. Our vehicles are comfortable, our groups are private, and every itinerary is built just for you.

Travel with purpose.

We hire local guides, partner with community-run lodges, and contribute to gorilla conservation funds. When you travel with us, you help protect the wild places and people we love.

Your pace, your adventure.

Want to spend an extra hour watching a gorilla family? Need a coffee break at a village stall? Prefer to skip the souvenir shop? You’re the boss.
